Purpose:

Chemetics Inc. (Worley Group) is a diversified technology company providing design and engineering solutions to the chloralkaline, sodium chlorate, chlorine dioxide, and sulphuric acid industries worldwide. With a 60-year history in Vancouver, Chemetics operates a specialized alloy fabrication shop in Pickering, ON.

We are recruiting a Jr. Materials Technical Service Engineer. This full-time position is based at our fabrication facility in Pickering, ON. The engineer reports to the Technical Service Manager and is responsible for materials selection, supporting projects related to Chemetics' process equipment, working with proprietary ANOTROL electrochemical corrosion protection systems, providing technical advice, and issuing quotations.

Over time, the candidate is expected to grow into a larger engineering or multi-discipline role.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute projects related to equipment designs, drawings, and technical documents, focusing on materials, fabrication, QA/QC, and troubleshooting.
  • Perform customer outage inspections, troubleshooting, and service tasks.
  • Assist in commissioning equipment for initial operation.
  • Train and advise customer personnel on operation and maintenance.
  • Prepare inspection and service reports.
  • Interact with customers, prepare quotations, and sell proprietary equipment and parts.
  • Assist in preparing operating manuals.
  • Participate in R&D activities, product development, and improvements.
  • Willing to travel internationally.

What you will bring:

Technical and Industry Experience:

  • Knowledge of corrosion, welding, chemical process equipment, CAD, and electrical control systems. An outgoing personality, mechanical aptitude, good communication skills, and a strong work ethic are assets.

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:

Required:

  • University degree in Materials or Metallurgical Engineering, E.I.T. level, with up to 5 years of experience.
