Job Description: Facility Supervisor

Location: Perth East, Ontario (near Stratford) | On-site (opportunity for remote)

Perth Environmental, part of the Minus Waste Solutions family, is a leader in environmental services with expertise in product destruction, recycling, and full-service liquid waste hauling. Our facility in Perth, Ontario, manages waste processing operations — including a tank farm that separates oil from liquid waste — with a focus on efficiency, safety, and compliance. We are seeking a Facility Supervisor to oversee operations, transportation, and supplier relationships at this key facility.

The Facility Supervisor is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Perth facility. This includes supervising the tank farm and oil separation process, overseeing drivers and dispatching, managing CVOR compliance, and coordinating fleet maintenance with the mechanic shop. The role also covers supplier/vendor management, staff hiring and training, and regulatory compliance. The Supervisor must be available to manage occasional after-hours emergency service calls to ensure uninterrupted service and customer support.

1. Tank Farm & Facility Oversight

• Supervise the operation of the tank farm, ensuring safe and compliant separation of oil from liquid waste.
• Oversee facility operations including waste intake, product destruction, recycling, and liquid waste handling.
• Ensure equipment is operated safely, inspected regularly, and maintained in good working order.

2. Driver & Staff Management

• Recruit, hire, train, coach, and if necessary, terminate drivers and facility staff.
• Schedule and dispatch drivers for waste hauling, tank hauling, and recycling runs.
• Ensure drivers maintain proper licenses, training, and compliance with company policies.

3. Fleet & CVOR Compliance

• Oversee the company’s CVOR (Commercial Vehicle Operator’s Registration) record to ensure compliance with transportation regulations.
• Work directly with the mechanic shop to ensure all trucks are properly serviced, repaired, and road-ready.
• Maintain accurate vehicle maintenance records and ensure all inspections are documented.
• Ensure driver logs, safety inspections, and compliance records are in order and audit-ready.

4. Supplier & Vendor Management

• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and service providers (fuel, maintenance, disposal sites, etc.).
• Negotiate contracts and evaluate supplier performance to ensure reliable, cost-effective support.
• Coordinate service scheduling to minimize downtime and disruption.

5. Compliance & Reporting

• Ensure operations comply with Ministry of Environment (MOE) regulations, ECA requirements, and health & safety standards.
• Maintain accurate records for waste streams, oil separation, driver logs, fleet maintenance, and product destruction.
• Lead facility inspections, audits, and corrective actions as required.

6. Emergency Response

• Be available to manage after-hours emergency service calls when required.
• Mobilize staff, drivers, and equipment to respond quickly and effectively.
• Document incidents and implement corrective actions.

7. Leadership & Continuous Improvement

• Develop and enforce SOPs for tank farm operations, dispatch, fleet management, and facility workflows.
• Foster a safety-first, accountable, and collaborative culture.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance compliance.

• 3–5 years supervisory experience in waste management, transportation, logistics, or industrial operations.
• Proven experience with driver management (hiring, training, dispatching, and termination).
• Knowledge of CVOR compliance, fleet maintenance practices, and transportation safety regulations.
• Hands-on experience in waste or environmental services; tank farm experience is an asset.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate teams.
• Organized and proactive problem-solver with solid decision-making ability.
• Computer proficiency (dispatch software, MS Office, reporting systems).
• Valid driver’s license; DZ or AZ license is a strong asset.
