Zurich Canada is currently looking for a Business Systems Analyst (BSA) with experience in Guidewire Pricing Module to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in analyzing business requirements and translating them into effective solutions within the Guidewire platform. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the enhancement and optimization of our insurance systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

This is a Hybrid role.

What you will do:
  1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and enhance the Guidewire pricing module, specifically focusing on Commercial lines of business.
  2. Coordinates with business owners to gather requirements through interviews and sessions for projects and enhancements.
  3. Analyzes requirements to assess systems’ potential and impacts on other units. Provides input to development efforts.
  4. Creates process models to evaluate the completeness of information and processes.
  5. Provides cost/benefit analysis, risk assessments, and scope definitions for proposed requirements.
  6. Guides users in building business cases and performs impact analysis. Supports testing, implementation, and training.
  7. Leads project tasks affecting multiple business and IT departments.
  8. Evaluates project impacts through consultations with various teams.
  9. Supports system configuration and integration testing to ensure requirements are met.
  10. Manages work plans, timelines, and budgets, prioritizing projects based on feedback and ROI.
  11. Performs business process modeling and re-engineering to ensure completeness.
  12. Utilizes UML tools to create Use Cases, Class, and Sequence Diagrams.
  13. Mentors team members in technology and application delivery.
  14. Collaborates with stakeholders to analyze requirements for Guidewire enhancements.
  15. Translates business requirements into technical specifications and design documents.
  16. Configures, customizes, and tests Guidewire applications to align with business needs.
  17. Provides support during system implementations and upgrades.
  18. Participates in integration testing, user acceptance testing, and deployment.
  19. Troubleshoots issues related to Guidewire applications and stays updated on industry trends.
What you bring to the table:

Qualifications

Required

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or Engineering and 8 or more years of experience in the Information Technology area related to Guidewire pricing module.
  2. OR
  3. High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Information Technology area related to Guidewire pricing module.

AND

  1. Process reengineering; LEAN/Six Sigma experience.
  2. Experience with process modeling tools.
  3. Insurance application system design/analysis experience.
  4. Experience with use case development.
  5. Experience with Rapid Application Development (RAD) tools/techniques.

Preferred

  1. Guidewire certification(s) (e.g., Guidewire Certified Professional).
  2. Experience working on Guidewire pricing module, preferably implementing Commercial lines of business.
  3. Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
  4. Knowledge of insurance industry standards and regulations.
