The Head of Sales – Treasury & Global Markets is responsible for leading, managing, and expanding the bank’s Treasury & Global Markets Sales function across all client segments, including Financial Institutions (FI), Non-Banking Financial Institutions (NBFI), Large Corporates, Mid-Corporates, Multinationals, Government & Public Sector clients, as well as Retail Clients.
This role will drive business development, revenue growth, and market leadership by delivering tailored investment, risk management, and liquidity solutions across Fixed Income, Currencies, Commodities (FICC), Treasury products, and Retail Banking services. The role requires strategic leadership in client acquisition, product structuring, risk management, and regulatory compliance while working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
Key result Areas :
Sales Strategy & Business Growth -
- Develop and execute a comprehensive Treasury & Global Markets Sales strategy covering FI, NBFI, Corporates, Public Sector clients, and Retail Clients.
- Drive market penetration and client expansion by offering a full range of FX, Rates, Fixed Income, Derivatives, Structured Treasury Solutions, and Retail Banking products.
- Position the bank as a top institutional, corporate, and retail treasury solutions provider in MENA and international markets.
Revenue & Product Development-
- Offer bespoke hedging, liquidity, investment solutions, including FX & Interest Rate Hedging, Fixed Income Trading, Commodities Hedging, Money Markets, Capital Markets, and Retail Banking Products.
- Ensure competitive pricing, structuring, and execution to maximize profitability within the bank’s risk appetite.
Client Coverage & Relationship Management-
- Build and maintain senior-level relationships with clients, including CFOs, Treasurers, Portfolio Managers, Government Officials, and Retail Banking clients.
- Partner with Corporate & Institutional Banking RMs to identify and capture cross-sell opportunities and enhance client relationships, including retail clients.
- Strengthen the bank’s institutional investor network, including sovereign wealth funds (SWFs), pension funds, asset managers, hedge funds, fast money accounts, and retail banking customers.
Risk, Compliance & Governance -
- Ensure all sales activities comply with internal risk frameworks, regulatory requirements, and governance policies.
- Work closely with Risk Management, Compliance, and Legal teams to structure deals within approved limits.
- Collaborate with the Head of Treasury Governance & Strategic Initiatives to ensure best-in-class governance and regulatory compliance.
Market Intelligence & Advisory -
- Stay ahead of global market trends, economic shifts, and regulatory changes, providing strategic insights to clients.
- Act as a trusted advisor, delivering market updates, investment strategies, and risk management insights.
- Lead internal training and knowledge-sharing initiatives to strengthen the sales team’s market expertise.
Leadership & Team Development -
- Build and manage a high-performance Treasury & Global Markets Sales team, ensuring strong engagement and professional development.
- Foster a collaborative culture across Treasury, Corporate Banking, Retail Banking, and Risk teams to drive business growth.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop top talent in FI, Corporate, and Retail Sales to enhance the bank’s market position.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience :
- 15+ years of experience in Treasury & Global Markets Sales, with leadership experience in both Institutional, Corporate, and Retail Sales.
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth, expanding client portfolios, and managing high-performing sales teams.
- Deep expertise in MENA and international financial markets, with strong relationships in the FI, Corporate, Retail, and Public Sector space.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related disciplines.
- Expertise in FICC products (FX, Rates, Fixed Income, Commodities, and Derivatives).
- Strong leadership, sales strategy, and client relationship management skills.
- Deep knowledge of regulatory frameworks, risk management, and compliance.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
