We are currently seeking a qualified and passionate full-time Clinical Assistant Professor
of Pharmacy Practice to join the Department of Pharmacy Practice, College of Pharmacy,
Gulf Medical University.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical Services and precepting: Participate in and initiate clinical services with an
affiliated hospital parallel to precepting GMU and external students.
Deliver Lectures and Seminars: Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses
which are relevant to Pharmacy Practice/ Clinical Pharmacy
Course Design: Develop and update course syllabi, learning materials, and
assessment tools.
Student Mentorship: Advise and mentor students academically and professionally,
including supervising scholarly activities
Conduct Research: Engage in original research in Pharmacy Practice/ Clinical
Pharmacy
Publish Work: Publish articles in peer-reviewed journals, contribute to books or
academic conferences.
Grant Writing: Apply for research grants and funding from academic, governmental,
or private organizations.
Collaborative Research: Work with colleagues, healthcare institutions, or
policymakers on joint research projects.
Departmental Duties: Serve on departmental, college, or university committees
(e.g., curriculum committee, assessment committee).
Community Engagement: Collaborate with local healthcare organizations or
government bodies on initiatives that benefit public health.
Professional Development: Stay updated with changes in the healthcare sector
and in educational best practices.
Leadership Roles: May take on leadership roles such as program coordinator,
committee chair, or academic advisor.
Supervise Graduate Students: Guide students in their research and career
development.
Field Placement Support: Assist students with internships or fieldwork placements
in healthcare organizations.
Program Review: Contribute to the accreditation processes and quality assurance of
academic programs.
Assessment: Participate in student learning outcomes assessment and program
evaluation activities.
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
1. PhD in Clinical Pharmacy/ Pharmacy Practice AND Board certification/ Clinical
Fellowship/ Residency (PGYI)
OR
1. Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) Degree from an ACPE-accredited program or an
equivalent recognized institution.
2. Postgraduate Year 1 (PGY-1) Pharmacy Residency Training.
3. Postgraduate Year 2 (PGY-2) Pharmacy Residency Training.
4. A minimum of one year of post-Pharm.D. experience in a clinical or academic setting.
OR
1. Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) Degree from an ACPE-accredited program or an
equivalent recognized institution.
2. Postgraduate Year 1 (PGY-1) Pharmacy Residency Training.
3. A two-year Clinical Fellowship.
OR
1. Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) Degree from an ACPE-accredited program or an
equivalent recognized institution.
2. Postgraduate Year 1 (PGY-1) Pharmacy Residency Training.
3. An active publication record
4. A minimum of 3 year of post- PGY-1 experience in a clinical or academic setting.
