Job summary
A local recruitment agency seeks an experienced External Sales Representative specializing in welding in Cape Town. Responsibilities include generating new business, maintaining client relationships, and meeting sales targets. Ideal candidates must have a strong sales background in the welding industry and be self-motivated with exceptional interpersonal skills. A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel are necessary. Competitive salary with commission and a company car option available.

- Provide accurate and timely sales reports, forecasts, and market feedback.

In this role, you will be responsible for generating new business opportunities, building, and maintaining client relationships, and achieving sales targets through face-to-face meetings, client visits, and networking within a designated territory.

- Participate in trade shows, exhibitions, and networking events. Which will require you to work over week ends.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., customer service, marketing) to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, competitors, and market developments.
- Proven experience in the Welding and PPE industry as an external sales representative or comparable sales role.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Self-motivated with a results-driven approach

- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively.
- Computer literate with Microsoft Office and Pastel Sage.
- 3 – 5 years’ Experience in the Welding retail market and have product knowledge of the following welding processes. MMA, MIG, TIG, PLASMA and GAS CUTTING & WELDING is essential.
- Demonstrated ability to close sales and meet performance goals.
