We are seeking a Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant to join our team, working between Tokai Estate in the Southern Suburbs and Heritage Manor in Somerset West.

The Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant is responsible for medication control and managing patients' prescriptions for Faircape's Healthcare facilities, under the supervision of the Responsible Pharmacist. 1. Prescription Preparation & Dispensing
2. Interpreting and preparing prescriptions
3. Repackaging and distributing medication
4. Ordering medicine and scheduled substances as per Responsible Pharmacist instructions
5. Preparing, labeling, and dispensing medication in compliance with pharmacist-reviewed prescriptions
6. Stock Control
7. Managing and monitoring ward stock and emergency trolley supplies
8. Replenishing stock in emergency trolleys and cupboards as needed
9. Conducting weekly and monthly stock takes, reconciling actual vs. system stock, and reporting discrepancies to the Responsible Pharmacist
10. Billing & Administration
11. Processing medication and consumables billing for sub-acute patients via Clinic Manager
12. Submitting medical aid claims through Propharm
13. Ensuring daily billing reports are reviewed and signed off by the Responsible Pharmacist

• Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant qualification
• Experience
• Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)
• Previous hospital experience will be advantageous.
• Previous experience with blister packaging would be advantageous
• Previous experience with Propharm and Clinic Manager will be advantageous

• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and medications
• Ability to accurately dispense medications under supervision
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Proficiency in pharmacy software and computer systems
• Understanding of pharmaceutical regulations and procedures
• Team player with the ability to work collaboratively
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes

Working Hours - Normal working hours are Monday to Friday from 09h00 to 18h00.
