WHAT IS ON OFFER

Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for a Finance Manager to join our team in Johannesburg. As part of the Senior Management Group for South Africa the candidate will be responsible for the finance function of the Alfred H Knight South Africa group. The candidate will ensure the accurate and timely submission of management accounts to group standards. Whilst also ensuring that anything reported is both consistent and adheres to local GAAP group policies and procedures. The candidate is expected to not only have strong technical skills but also to gain a thorough understanding of the business to enable the reporting of insightful financial information. This will mean involvement in all aspects of the business such as operations commercials and legal in what is considered very much a business partnering role.

The ideal candidate will have experience implementing strong financial controls and working with operations and senior management to improve financial performance.

To be successful at Alfred H Knight you will need to display the following :

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Ability to work under pressure ensuring compliance with deadlines establishing and maintaining
  • cooperative working relationships with department staff and non-finance staff.
  • Strong technical and analytical accounting skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of Black Economic Empowerment.
  • Consolidation experience.
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate financial data in a relevant and concise way both orally and in the development of written documents reports and financial information.
  • Strong excel skills.
  • Experience of Infor Sun Systems (Desirable).

Required Competencies

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan manage and prioritise workload to ensure all key deadlines are met.
  • Ability to manage and develop direct report staff remotely.
  • Required Work Experience

  • Experience in managing relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Required Qualifications

  • Qualified CPA (or equivalent including CIMA / ACCA) accountant.
  • Travel

  • Must be prepared to travel to all sites in Southern Africa and the UK when required.
