Job summary
A recruitment agency is seeking talented Electrical, Control and Instrumentation (EC&I) Engineers or Designers for a permanent position. This role involves designing and delivering complex EC&I systems for significant energy projects, ensuring alignment with safety and regulatory standards. Candidates should have experience in regulated industries and a degree in Electrical Engineering. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to low-carbon energy and national power initiatives.
Qualifications
- Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering or a related discipline is required.
- Professional registration (IEng/CEng) or working towards it is advantageous.
- You must have Right to Work in the UK.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver EC&I solutions across major projects.
- Produce and review design documentation and specifications.
- Support project teams with technical input.
- Ensure engineering output aligns with safety and quality.
- Collaborate with colleagues and suppliers to resolve challenges.
- Contribute to project planning and design integration activities.

You’ll help shape the design and delivery of complex EC&I systems that support safe, efficient and innovative operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a meaningful role in the future of low-carbon energy and national power.
- Designing and delivering electrical, control and instrumentation solutions across major projects
- Producing and reviewing design documentation, drawings, specifications and calculations
- Supporting project teams with technical input across all design phases
- Ensuring that engineering output aligns with safety, quality and regulatory frameworks
- Collaborating with colleagues, clients and suppliers to resolve technical challenges
- Contributing to project planning, progress reviews and design integration activities
- Experience designing or delivering EC&I systems within regulated industries (e.g., nuclear, energy, defence, utilities)
- Understanding of electrical engineering principles, control systems, PLC/SCADA technologies and instrumentation
- Knowledge of relevant safety, compliance and technical standards
- Ability to work within multi-disciplinary teams and engage effectively with stakeholders
- Experience producing EC&I design deliverables (for designers) or leading technical work packages (for engineers)
