Job description

Our client in the citrus / agricultural industry, based in Kirkwood, is looking to employ an experienced Maintenance Artisan. This role will be based on‑site in Kirkwood.

About the role:
  • The suitable candidate must be willing to work either day or night shift.
  • The packhouse uses typical sorting and conveying equipment to add value to large volumes of citrus produce. This position will report directly to the Maintenance Manager.
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 / N3 with a recognised Trade Test (Millwright, Electrician or Fitter)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in factory or industrial maintenance
  • Computer literacy
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Willingness to work shifts and weekends when required
Responsibilities:
  • Ensure adherence to Health and Safety, Environmental, Quality and Housekeeping requirements.
  • Execute planned and preventative maintenance as per schedule.
  • Perform breakdown work and fault finding (electrical, mechanical and PLCs).
  • Plan and prioritise daily work responsibilities and work effectively under pressure.
  • Apply diagnostic and fault‑finding techniques and repair equipment defects.
  • Clean, maintain and repair mechanical parts, components and equipment as directed.
  • Carry out workshop fabrication, equipment assembly, installation and ongoing maintenance.
  • Conduct off‑season planning, including identifying maintenance needs and stock requirements.
  • Ensure all off‑season parts and equipment are discussed and pre‑ordered with the stores department.
  • Attain and maintain all relevant licences and authorisations required for duties (e.g., working at heights, lockout).
  • Work in full compliance with all safety procedures and regulations.
  • Complete job cards and GMR inspection documentation daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly as required.
