Job summary
A leading recruitment agency is seeking a Senior Civil Structural Engineer to join a team in Manchester. The role involves civil and structural analysis, client interactions, and mentoring junior engineers. Candidates should have 5-10 years of experience, preferably in nuclear or oil & gas sectors. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential. This position supports a hybrid work model with 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5-10 years experience in civil/structural engineering.
- Experience in nuclear, oil & gas, or process industries is preferred.
- Strong experience working with multi-disciplinary teams.

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Structural Engineer to join their team in Manchester. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering civil and structural analysis, calculations, reports, and specifications. Your role will require effective communication with the BIM team to ensure seamless integration of designs and coordination with other disciplines. You will be tasked with occasionally attending site visits, design reviews, and client meetings. Additionally, you will support and mentor junior team members and provide authoritative guidance to clients.
- Perform civil and structural analysis, calculations, and prepare reports and specifications.
- Collaborate with BIM teams to communicate designs clearly and accurately.
- Attend site visits, design reviews, and client meetings as necessary.
- Support and mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and development.
- Act as the lead engineer during client meetings, showcasing authority and confidence in presenting technical solutions.
- Ensure designs and deliverables meet industry standards and client requirements.
- Minimum of 5-10 years experience in civil/structural engineering, preferably in nuclear, oil & gas, or process industries.
- BEng in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
- Chartered status with ICE or IStructE is preferred.
- CSCS card holder is desirable.
- Strong experience working with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge and experience of relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations.
