Overview

Location: Manchester (3 days per week in the office, 2 from home) \u2022 Contract Duration: 6 Months \u2022 Hours: 40 hours per week \u2022 IR35: to be determined


Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Structural Engineer to join their team in Manchester. As part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering civil and structural analysis, calculations, reports, and specifications. Your role will require effective communication with the BIM team to ensure seamless integration of designs and coordination with other disciplines. You will be tasked with occasionally attending site visits, design reviews, and client meetings. Additionally, you will support and mentor junior team members and provide authoritative guidance to clients.



Responsibilities


  • Perform civil and structural analysis, calculations, and prepare reports and specifications.

  • Collaborate with BIM teams to communicate designs clearly and accurately.

  • Attend site visits, design reviews, and client meetings as necessary.

  • Support and mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and development.

  • Act as the lead engineer during client meetings, showcasing authority and confidence in presenting technical solutions.

  • Ensure designs and deliverables meet industry standards and client requirements.



Qualifications


  • Minimum of 5-10 years experience in civil/structural engineering, preferably in nuclear, oil & gas, or process industries.

  • BEng in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).

  • Chartered status with ICE or IStructE is preferred.

  • CSCS card holder is desirable.

  • Strong experience working with multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Knowledge and experience of relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations.
