Job Duties, Responsibilities, Qualifications, and Requirements

Job Summary:

The IT executive in a precision engineering company acts as a bridge between the company's technological needs and its internal operations, wearing multiple hats to ensure smooth IT functioning.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Hardware and Software Selection & Procurement: Research, identify, and acquire necessary hardware (servers, workstations, networking equipment) and software licenses to support operational processes, staying updated on latest technologies.
2. Create Purchase Requisitions (PR): Gather accurate information based on user requirements and follow internal procedures for procurement.
3. System Maintenance and Security: Conduct regular maintenance of servers, workstations, and networks; implement security measures against cyber threats; perform data backups for disaster recovery.
4. User Support: Provide technical support to resolve issues related to computers, software, and network connectivity.
5. Policies and Procedures: Draft and implement IT policies covering acceptable use, data security, and software licensing.
6. User Training: Develop and execute training programs for employees on IT systems and security protocols.
7. Vendor Selection and Negotiation: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with third-party vendors for IT services, ensuring optimal value.
8. Relationship Management: Maintain positive relationships with vendors, troubleshoot service issues, and ensure service delivery.
9. Understanding Business Needs: Liaise with internal IT management to understand department-specific needs and challenges, tailoring IT policies accordingly.
10. Alignment with Central Guidelines: Coordinate with the parent company's IT manager to ensure policies align with central guidelines and best practices.
11. Resource Sharing & Support: Collaborate with the parent company's IT department to leverage resources and support, avoiding duplication.

Additional Responsibilities:

• ERP Support: Assist in understanding and supporting ERP services, with training provided by the ERP Application Engineer.

Education and/or Experience:

• Minimum ITE/Diploma in Infocomm Security, Cybersecurity, or related fields.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity.

Language, Mathematical, and Reasoning Ability:

Proficiency in English and Mandarin.

Physical Demands:

Ability to lift up to 10kg.
