Offshore Business Manager - Insurance
Job summary
A licensed financial services company in Kuala Lumpur seeks an Offshore Business Manager to oversee offshore business channels in China, Thailand, and ASEAN. The role includes training brokers, ensuring compliance with regulations, and monitoring market trends. Proficiency in English and Mandarin is essential, along with 1-2 years of experience in life insurance or financial advisory. Travel across the ASEAN region may be required, with allowances covered.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1-2 years in life insurance financial advisory or related field.
- Experience in offshore life insurance markets in China, Thailand, and ASEAN is a plus.
- Ability to read Chinese is crucial for supporting brokers in China.

Company Background:
We are representing our client, alicensed financial services company with their office locationbased in KL Eco City. They are currently on a look out for Offshore Business Managerto oversee and drive offshore business channels in China, Thailand, and the broader ASEAN region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the main point of contact for offshore brokers in China, Thailand, and ASEAN countries. Coordinate daily activities, address broker inquiries, and maintain consistent communication to support business objectives
- Conduct training sessions, workshops, and seminars for brokers to enhance their knowledge of the products, services, and the regulatory landscape. Ensure brokers are well-equipped to deliver quality advisory services
- Provide ongoing support to offshore brokers, including guidance on client management, problem resolution, and alignment with company goals and standards. Collaborate to resolve any issues promptly to maintain strong broker relations
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities within China, Thailand, and ASEAN. Recommend strategies for enhancing our business operations and adapting to regional market dynamics
- Ensure all offshore brokers are compliant with both local regulations and Singaporean standards. Educate and advise brokers on regulatory updates that may impact their work
- Liaise with internal teams in Singapore, such as compliance, distribution, and business development, to align offshore activities with the company's objectives
Requirements:
- Language: English and Mandarin (proficiency in reading in Chinese is crucial for supporting brokers in China)
- Minimum 1-2 years in life insurance financial advisory, or a related field, an added advantage if have exposure to offshore life insurance markets in China, Thailand, and ASEAN.
- Insurance agent is encouraged to apply
- Based in Kuala Lumpur, with potential travel across China andASEAN region as required (travel allowances will becovered)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster productive relationships with offshore brokers and internal stakeholders
