As a Senior Marine Pipelines Engineer, you will assist in the production of all engineering work within the discipline engineering team for assigned projects. The role shall also support lead engineer in ensuring the technical adequacy and quality of engineering work produced by the discipline engineers at subordinate levels and proper coordination and communication with other disciplines for completion of all assigned work within schedule and budget of the Project.

What you’ll do

The role responsibilities include:

  • Prepare design premises and/or Basis of Design (BoD) for projects.
  • Conduct engineering activities and prepare deliverables compliance with Worley Management System in engineering delivery, supported by Lead Engineer.
  • Perform engineering activities and prepare deliverables in compliance with engineering standards, Customer specifications and requirements, references and legislative requirements.
  • Perform engineering activities and prepare deliverables in strict compliance with Technical Integrity of the discipline’s deliverables through the implementation of checking and design review activities.
  • Perform engineering activities and prepare deliverables as directed by Lead Engineer, including not limited to, the following:
    • Prepare reports, studies, drawings, sketches, diagrams, lists, 3D models, MTOs, schedules, registers etc., in compliance with the BoD.
    • Prepare specifications.
    • Perform engineering modeling, analyses and simulations.
    • Prepare responses or clarifications to Customer's and/or other discipline’s queries/ comments on technical matters.
    • Use of appropriate tools.
    • Collate, gather and verify engineering input data.
    • Analyses and explain analysis results and findings.
    • Identify and report project variances and scope changes.
    • Seek understanding of the hazards and risks associated with the asset lifecycle of the designed facilities, related such hazards and risks to the discipline engineering team and discuss the way forward to address them with Lead Engineer.
    • Assist in the list of deliverables for the scope of the discipline engineering team for the Project.
    • Assist the implementation of Quality Assurance system requirements to ensure engineering delivery quality and consistency.
    • Assist the implementation of HSE system requirements and safe working practices.
    • Communicate directions from Lead Engineer to subordinate discipline engineers.
    • Guide, train and assist subordinate discipline engineers to address complex technical issues as required.
What you’ll have
  • Knowledgeable and with working experience in oil & gas industry with 8 years of experience or longer, in particular on engineering design of submarine pipelines and associated structures.
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in performing engineering design of submarine pipelines and associated structures, including but not limited to, wall thickness design, route selection, stability assessment, free span analysis, global bucking analysis, bottom‑roughness analysis, expansion analysis, crossing analysis, riser/ spool flexibility analysis, trenching and burial design, shore approach design, pipeline installation and construction study, etc.
  • Well‑versed with industrial practices and international codes and standards, including DNV, ASME, API, ISO, etc., and their applications in engineering design of submarine pipelines and associated structures.
  • Good understanding and experienced in the use and applicability, including the limitations, of engineering software and tools for engineering design, including but not limited to, commercial software DNV StableLines, DNV FatFree, CAESAR, AutoPIPE, SAGE Profile, OFFPIPE, OrcaFlex, etc.
  • General understanding and experienced in preparation of specifications, including construction specifications.
  • General understanding of the engineering scope and requirements for various phases of the Project, including conceptual, feasibility or Pre‑FEED, FEED, Detailed Design.
  • General understanding in offshore field development, especially on planning and construction phases.
  • Focus and driven in ensuring compliance with the requirements of Quality Assurance system during engineering delivery.
  • Focus and driven in ensuring compliance with the requirements of HSE system and understand the importance of safe working practices.
  • Ability and willingness to meet agreed schedule deadlines projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and able to work with others as part of a team.
  • Ability and willingness to guide, train and develop subordinate discipline engineers.
  • Competent in explaining and documenting design concepts and approaches in engineering reports and studies in the English language.
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering or equivalent, or higher academic achievements in the relevant field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in pipeline engineering with involved in various stages from Pre‑FEED, FEED and Detailed Design.
  • Additional experience in umbilical and cables design will be an advantage.
