Assistant Manager Technical Support - Piping
Job summary
A leading engineering firm in Johor Bahru is looking for a qualified individual to lead a team of piping engineers. The candidate will be responsible for providing technical guidance in fiberglass piping design and managing team performance. Ideal candidates will have a degree in engineering with at least 5 years of experience or a diploma with 8 years in the relevant field. Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills are essential.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant experience for Degree holders or 8+ years for Diploma holders.
- Strong technical background in piping design and construction.
- Proven experience managing projects and teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of piping engineers.
- Provide technical guidance and advisory for fiberglass piping design.
- Manage performance and productivity of TSG Teams.
- Oversee project/job allocations.
Skills
Education
- Leading, mentoring and developing a team of piping engineers and draftsmen;
- Providing technical guidance and coaching to team to provide fiberglass piping design review and advisory to customers in shipbuilding and offshore business
- Overall managing TSG Teams to deliver fiberglass piping prefabrication spool drawings meeting customer/project requirements
- Overall managing team and team member performance, productivity, on time delivery and spool drawing quality.
- Oversee work assignment - projects/jobs allocation
- Fostering a positive and inclusive team environment
- Identify and drive development and improvement
- Exploring opportunities and collaboration with other department and business units.
- Degree in Engineering with at least 5 years’ experience of relevant experience, or Diploma qualification with at least 8 years’ experience.
- Possess strong technical background in piping design and construction preferably in shipbuilding and/or offshore project construction
- Proven experience in planning, executing and managing projects
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven record of department/team management experience
- Experience in interactions with customers and partners across different countries and cultures
- Broad understanding of organization operation and development
