Loan Agency team authorize/validate/monitor the full range of administrative duties of servicing a deal, as well as gaining exposure to a variety of syndicated facility types. Business management team is responsible for reconciliation, static data maintenance, user access management and call-back. To manage the ISV Operations in Kuala Lumpur for UK Region, where we provide operational support within the Global Service Centre framework in Malaysia.

• Accountable for Loan Agency Operations, and Ancillary functions, offshored from UK.
• Building and maintaining a scalable end to end ISV process to support overall aspirations of the business.
• Responsible for entity and functional management of 10 to 20 staff based offshore in Kuala Lumpur.
• Management of operational processes and control function to meet or exceed service level and regulatory requirements.
• Responsible for continuous process improvement of existing processes, migration of new functions from the onshore business partner and driving efficiencies of a new system.

• Operate in line with the Annual/Rolling Operating Plan for ISV in KL
• Deliver to the year on year sustainable cost saves targets.

• Establish and maintain effective relationship with business partners, global product function, and counterpart for Issuer Services UK in order to stay close to operational service requirements, identify areas of service improvement and standardized processes.

• Establish and maintain appropriate operational governance structure across the offshored Loans functions.

1. Ensure most appropriate organizational structures, systems, procedures and controls are utilized in support of HSS business. Implement change as necessary to realize process improvement or enhanced product offering.
2. Implement effective management and performance reporting to monitor Service Level Agreement (SLA) and regulatory standards and ensure appropriate metrics are in place to meet these.
3. Actively participate in system upgrade reviews/projects and recommend enhancements to improve automation and enhance the service offering.

• Implement strong risk management environment to negate operational losses, regulatory breaches and potential fraud.
• Execute an effective business contingency plan in line with group policies and business partner requirements.

• Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.
• Understands, follows and demonstrates compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business in which the jobholder is involved, specifically Internal Controls and any Compliance policy including, inter alia, the Group Compliance policy.
• Ensure compliance with internal guidelines (GSM, FIM and BIM’s).

• University degree level, or equivalent practical experience / maturity.
• Business Management and/or additional certifications in Finance would be preferred.

• Extensive working experience in the securities industry, to include:

1. Knowledge of inter-bank offered rate based loan administration.
2. Management position with exposure to business partners across multiple geographical locations
3. Proven experience in managing medium to large teams.
4. Prior experience in syndicated loan operations would be preferred.

• Review of the documentation from an operational perspective
• Manage Deal and Facility setup in Loan IQ
• Coordination with the Client Service and Transaction Manager on the operational aspects of the closing process (initial drawdown / fees, conditions precedent etc)
• Coordination with the operational City Sites for static data set up including SSI’s and Call Back.
• Coordination with City Site Ops team to ensure key static has been set up in a timely manner.
• Perform Quality Assurance function on new deal set up and amendments.
• Review of the documentation from an operational perspective.
• Set up Deal in Loan IQ for new transactions and complex amendments based on the facility agreement.
• Margin changes (Maintaining ratios, Covenants)
• Fee settlement & Billing (Commitment, Utilization, SBLC, Waiver, Agency & Upfront)
