A leading consulting firm in Kuala Lumpur is seeking an AS400 Developer with strong proficiency in RPG/Cobol. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining applications on AS400, troubleshooting production issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Ideal candidates should have a solid understanding of unit testing and application documentation, and familiarity with ALDON is a plus.

We are seeking an experienced AS400 Developer with strong proficiency in RPG /Cobol to join our development team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analyzing, designing, coding, testing, and implementing software applications.
- Design, develop, and maintain applications using RPG (RPG III, IV, ILE), CL and COBOL.
- Analyze user requirements and design technical solutions.
- Perform unit testing and support system integration testing.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and fix production issues on AS400 applications.
- Work on new enhancements, bug fixes, and performance tuning of existing applications.
- Develop and maintain system documentation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business analysts, QA, and project managers.
- Migrate and modernize legacy RPG programs when necessary.
- Provide support for batch jobs and production support on AS400 platform.
- Work collaborate with business use established requirement management methodology and tools to identify, verify and document business, functional and technical requirement to support development of technology solutions.
- Assist BA in defining solution, ensuring alignment with business strategies and priorities as well as target benefits expected.
- Design and document application using AS400.
- Identify new hardware and software technologies to fit specialized business needs and configurations.
- Direct the development and configuration of application components from conceptualization through stabilization using various computer platforms.
