Store Manager

Full-time: 35-40 hours per week

Jorum Studio is a luxury fragrance brand founded in 2019, led by Scottish perfumer Euan McCall. We create modern, poetic fragrances that capture the beauty of nature with an unconventional spirit.

Creating each product in-house from our Edinburgh facility, Jorum Studio offers an ever-evolving perspective on modern fragrance, blending classical techniques with innovative and unique compositions to allow the wearer's creativity and sense of expression to shine.

Known for our focus on quality and creative style, the brand is stocked in over 120 retailers worldwide as well as our flagship boutique in Edinburgh’s Stockbridge. The brand is soon to open their second boutique in London’s Marylebone as a direct result of experiencing dynamic growth across the business.

The Role
Jorum is looking for an experienced Store Manager to lead our new store in London’s Marylebone. Working full-time, you will be responsible for managing the team, choreographing daily operations, budgeting and contributing to store-specific marketing, ensuring an elevated client experience and driving overall store performance. You will embody Jorum’s values and aesthetic, inspiring your team to meet sales targets and enhance the brand’s presence in the market.

The successful candidate will be a skilled professional with a passion for customer-service, approaching the role with enthusiasm and a commitment to excellence, developing a culture of enthusiasm for the brand within the team and always looking to perfect the customer experience.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Act as an ambassador for Jorum helping to educate and excite customers about the brand and its products through deep understanding of the brand and expert knowledge of our product range.
  • Lead and inspire the team to deliver standout client experience in-line with the brand’s values.
  • Recruit and develop team members.
  • Lead human resources related responsibilities including writing and conducting staff performance reviews, communicating and addressing performance issues, handling disciplinary matters, ensuring all staff adhere to UK employment laws and company policies.
  • Drive sales performance of the store and take full ownership of store targets.
  • Understand how to maximise sales opportunities; set goals, incentives and objectives for the retail team and empower them to deliver.
  • Organise daily store operations through clear delegation and planning.
  • Manage staff scheduling to ensure optimal store coverage.
  • Monitor budgets and expenses with a sustainable and cost-conscious approach.
  • Welcome all customers to the store offering comprehensive knowledge of products, providing compelling stories alongside brand and product guidelines, maintaining the highest level of customer service.
  • Understand KPI targets and expectations and how to surpass targets.
  • Close control of stock management and POS system and assisting with Stocktake when required.
  • Understand and implement company policies, procedures, and reporting standards.
  • Collaborate with Head Office to share valuable store and client insights.
  • Understand all process and procedures and set the standard for the rest of the sales team.
  • Plan and deliver in-store events and retail activations.
  • Turn business insights into concise action plans, resulting in commercial growth.
  • Demonstrate strong, positive communication to all levels, motivating the team and building good working relationships within the store and the wider community.

Your Profile

  • 2-4+years’ experience in store management within high-end retail.
  • Knowledge of the fragrance market including luxury and niche fragrance categories.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire, guide, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Entrepreneurial, results-driven, and attentive to detail.
  • An agile and decisive mindset with the ability to adapt to new challenges.
  • Skilled in building long-term customer relationships.
  • Proficient in back-office operations, including stock management and reporting.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken; additional languages are a plus.
  • Available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Understands the retail landscape in fragrance and beauty with a strong knowledge of consumer shopping trends.
  • In depth knowledge of surrounding competition, market trends and consumer needs ensuring relevant commercial feedback is provided to Head Office.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Uses technology to enhance communication with stakeholders and retail team alike.
