The successful candidate will work closely with emergency services to triage and support individuals in mental health crises. Responsibilities include providing clinical advice and participating in community interventions. Candidates should have relevant experience in mental health services and be prepared to work 24/7 shifts. Additional benefits include generous annual leave and pay enhancements for evenings and weekends.
The post holder will work with local mental health and emergency services to ensure that mental health vulnerability is considered and triaged. High‑quality information and clinical advice will be provided when an individual comes in contact with, or to the attention of, GMP and NWAS where it is believed the individual may be experiencing a mental health crisis and require support. The post holder will support the Clinical Manager in carrying continuing professional and managerial responsibilities for the clinical area, contributing to the maintenance of the overall service standards. The post holder will demonstrate an attitude which respects and values service users and their carers.
The Practitioners' base will change rotationally to include the NWAS EOC base in Central Manchester and potentially the Middlebrook site. Subject to review, there will be an opportunity to support the MHJRC based at GMP Central Park North Divisional Head Quarters.
The service operates 24/7, 7 days a week, 365 days per year and practitioners will need to work within a 24‑hour shift pattern. As part of the urgent care pathway within GMMH, the role includes face‑to‑face community interventions and first‑responder duties.
All positions within the Trust are subject to satisfactory pre‑employment checks. For further information on the checks required please visit the NHS Employers website www.nhsemployers.org.
The Trust mandates all post holders who require a DBS for their role to subscribe to the DBS Update Service. Enrolment for this service will cost £16 per year and must be maintained throughout employment with GMMH.
We are aspiring to ensure our workforce is representative of the diverse communities we serve and are strongly committed to removing barriers to employment for candidates from under‑represented groups, for example BAME, Disabled and LGBT+ communities.
Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) when writing job applications: A candidate may use AI to help write their application. The assessment of an application is made on its entirety and AI‑generated content often fails to fully grasp the context and requirements of the role. We reserve the right to follow up on specific responses and examples used in the supporting statement.
