Job Title: Teaching Assistant/Autism Practitioner

Location: Baston House School, Bromley, Kent BR2 7AB

Salary: £23,500 per annum (not pro rata)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday | 8.30am-4.30pm

Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only

Start: October 2025

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant/Autism Practitioner, you will play a vital role in supporting our pupils’ learning, development, and wellbeing. You will work closely with class teachers and the multidisciplinary team to ensure that each student receives high-quality, personalised support tailored to their needs. This is a rewarding role for someone passionate about empowering young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), helping them thrive academically, socially, and emotionally in a nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support class teachers or tutors to deliver high-quality education for all students.
  • Assist in implementing all relevant education policies and procedures fully and effectively.
  • Provide individual and group support to students, helping them access the curriculum as independently as possible.
  • Promote the physical, educational, and moral development of students in line with company policies.
  • Ensure efficient use, storage, and maintenance of classroom equipment and resources.
  • Organise the classroom environment, including resources, student groupings, and displays, to create a stimulating, ASD-friendly learning space.
  • Collaborate with teachers to write, update, implement, and evaluate individual student documentation, including Behaviour Support Profiles (BSP), Individual Risk Assessments, Individual Education Plans, Communication Profiles, and Pastoral Support Plans.
