Overview:

Sentara Brock Cancer Center, located in Norfolk, Virginia, is hiring a part-time Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Radiology Oncology Team.

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for performing competent nursing care, demonstrating critical thinking through the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, care coordination, teaching, health promotion, and evaluation. The RN also adheres to standards of professional performance such as ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health. Candidates should possess clinical knowledge and skills aligned with the specific clinical area. A BSN or MSN is preferred. All candidates must meet and maintain the requirements set by the specific specialty.

In this role, you will coordinate patient care, provide education, and function as an intake nurse. You will also assist with special procedures involving radioactive materials and IVs.

Shift Available

• 24 hours per week, Part-Time
• 8-hour day shifts, with possible extended hours based on patient needs
• Start time generally at 7:30 a.m.

Education

• Associate's Degree, or
• RN-Bachelor's Degree, or
• RN-Diploma, or
• RN-Master's Degree

Certification/Licensure

• BLS certification within 6 months
• Virginia or Multistate Compact Registered Nurse license in good standing

Experience

• Oncology or Radiation Oncology experience preferred.
• Note: Not considering new graduate RNs at this time.
