The GO Expansion On-Corridor Works scope includes: new electric locomotives, fleet upgrades, train control systems, network electrification, signalling, telecommunications and digital systems, maintenance, and much more.

Alstom is seeking a Sr. Construction Manager. This individual will be responsible for leading the construction activities of the Project in accordance with the Project's governing methodologies.

Responsibilities

1. Ensure the overall Alstom coordination internally, with the other LPPs and all external stakeholders.
2. Ensure the implementation of progress monitoring concerning the construction activities and compare to planned durations and productivities.
3. Consolidate data from all the constructors in order to manage the work scheduling.
4. Ensure reporting of construction progress to OPC Director and to Alstom Project Management.
5. Keep detailed records of all activities and events that occur in work areas (daily site report updates).
6. Manage communication with the external stakeholders and ensure availability of all the documentation required for construction.
7. Enforce the observance of the Health and Safety Management Plan and Environmental Plan.
8. Enforce training of all individuals acting on the field on HSE requirements.
9. Monitor the observance of the stipulations laid down in the Project Quality Documentation by the site management team.
10. Contribute to the coordination of Testing and Commissioning activities of all the areas still under construction responsibility.
11. Prepare and report the financial budget of the Construction Management group for presentation to upper management.
12. Continuously review the project schedule and assess impacts in case of any changes.
13. Gather inputs and close coordination with (or direct management of, depending on the Project Org. Chart) Area Construction Managers and Track Access Teams.

Educational Requirements:

Mandatory:

1. Highly qualified technician or Engineer degree level or equivalent education or experience.
2. Master in Project Management.
3. Certification on Site EHS Management.

Experience:

Mandatory:

1. 10 years of railway experience.
2. Previous experience in a major Brownfield Railway Construction project.
3. Cost and planning control experience in site management scope.
4. EHS background.
5. Familiarity with the Metrolinx processes and procedures of track access.
6. Metrolinx PTS training.
