Job Description
We are currently seeking a qualified
Project Manager to join our Infrastructure team, based out of Toronto. The Project Manager will be responsible for the health, safety, environment, quality, schedule and cost performance for Pape Stations in support of the Delivery Partners for the Metrolinx Ontario Line subway project. The Pape Tunnel and Underground Stations project is one of many contracts to deliver the Ontario Line, a 15.6-kilometre stand-alone rapid transit line that will connect the Ontario Science Centre to Exhibition/Ontario Place.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Three kilometres of twin tunnels underneath Pape Avenue between the Gerrard portal and the Don Valley bridge
- Underpinning of the existing TTC Pape Station on Line 2.
- Two underground stations (Pape and Cosburn) and two portals
- Three emergency exit buildings/emergency services buildings
- A rail switch/crossover in the section of tunnel near Sammon Avenue
- Interface with Line 2 TTC subway
- Safeguard that the Project Company delivers Pape Stations in accordance with the contract.
- Reporting progress and escalating issues to the Pape Delivery Manager.
- Engaging discipline leads for subject matter expertise, implementing direction provided.
- Reviewing Parent Company deliverables for Pape Station and provide feedback regarding conformance with contract requirements and otherwise improvements that would benefit the project.
- Participate in planning, reviewing documents and oversight of site activities for the station, highlighting non-conformances, risks and emerging issues.
- Recommending actions to address non-conformances / improve the outcome of Pape Station.
- Maintaining a “look-ahead” view and reporting forecasts, risks and issues.
- Providing underground excavation subject matter expertise to the Pape team.
- Providing input to Delivery Partner progress report for the station.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with internal teams, clients and stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals, deliverable and timelines.
- Build and maintain strong interpersonal relationships to foster collaboration, trust and a positive working environment.
- Manage stakeholder expectations through proactive engagement, regular updates and tailored communication strategies.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for the client, addressing inquiries, providing solutions and ensuring exceptional service delivery.
- Lead mentor & inspire team members.
The scope of work for the Pape Station contract includes:

Qualifications
- Relevant bachelor’s degree with 10-15 years project or construction management experience position(s) with responsibility for delivering infrastructure of similar scope, size and complexity on a transit project.
- Experience of working on infrastructure mega-projects for either a contractor or project management team (representing the client), experience of rail projects in urban areas is desirable.
- Experience or working knowledge of multiple project delivery functions (e.g. engineering, contracts & procurement, construction, testing & commissioning, project controls, environment, safety & health, quality).
- Experience of delivering an underground station or similar scope elements as part of multi-discipline teams working on complex mega-projects.
- Strong leadership, relationship building and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Fluent in using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H).
- Demonstrated commitment to Zero Accident safety programs.
- High emotional intelligence, adaptability, and a customer-centric mindset, with the ability to lead through influence and manage challenging conversations.
- Leadership experience, with a track record of successfully managing and motivating teams to achieve high performance.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and build rapport with clients and stakeholders.
