What you'll be challenged to do:

As a Municipal Engineer – Drainage, you will support planning, design, and construction management activities for a variety of projects, becoming an essential member of our drainage & SWM team in the Greater Toronto Area while expanding your career and tackling new challenges.

In this capacity, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Engage in complex problem solving through the involvement of several tasks/contracts with local clients, including MTO, Metrolinx, and municipal bodies.
  • Execute design and technical services provided to clients, collaborating closely with stakeholders to ensure project success.
  • Design civil/site, municipal servicing, and water resources-related projects including stormwater management, storm drains, and Low Impact Development.
  • Apply hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, stream restoration, and wet utilities knowledge while managing conservation authority knowledge & permitting and overseeing construction phase services.
  • Lead small projects and enhance processes for efficiency and effectiveness, preparing for a leadership role through professional growth and skill development.
Education | Experience:

What you will bring to our firm:

  • S. in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Water Resources Engineering, or a related field of practice is required, with a Professional Engineer license in Ontario, P.Eng.
  • 5 – 10 years’ experience in civil site design, with specific expertise in stormwater management design, hydrologic modeling, permitting and best management practices (BMPs).
  • Experience with the design and construction of wet utilities, such as sanitary systems, storm drainage, and water mains.
  • In-depth understanding of contract administration, construction inspection services, and the necessary requirements.

What we prefer you bring:

  • A related Master’s Degree as an added advantage.
  • Established contacts and knowledge of the regulatory environment and approval processes within the GTA/Ontario.
  • Strong skills in Civil3D/MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, with experience using ArcGIS and Bentley-related modeling programs as a plus.
  • Proficiency in specific engineering software includes InfoWorks ICM, EPA/PC-SWMM, HEC-RAS, SWMHYMO, and Visual OTTHYMO for completing engineering assignments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder engagement.

The range for this position is salary dependent upon experience and geographic location.
