What You'll Be Doing:

1. Design Structural Steel Structures and Buildings using software packages (e.g., SAP2000), following CSA S-16-19 standards.
2. Design Reinforced Concrete Structures using analysis software (SAFE, ETABS, S-Concrete, etc.) following CSA A23.3-19 standards.
3. Verify designs through hand calculations in accordance with CSA codes.
4. Markup Structural Steel details for BIM technologists and EITs.
5. Markup Reinforced Concrete rebar details for BIM technologists and EITs.
6. Manage and review design work of Engineers and BIM technologists.
7. Perform Quality Assurance for Structural Discipline projects.
8. Coordinate design with other disciplines, clients, and construction managers.
9. Prepare Calculation Packages.
10. Conduct site visits and prepare reports.
11. Develop Structural Specifications.
12. Contribute to Proposal Writing.
13. Serve as a technical knowledge center in Transit Structures/Facilities.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

1. Experience in Structural Design, producing drawings and specifications.
2. Knowledge of structural analysis software packages.
3. Excellent communication skills.
4. Mentorship experience with Junior & Intermediate Engineers.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

1. Experience with Transit Projects and standards such as Metrolinx DRM and AREMA 2023.
2. Experience in Masonry design following CSA S304-19.
3. Higher degrees (Masters or Doctorate) in Structural Design are assets.
4. Knowledge of Computational Design.
5. Experience as a Structural Lead on major projects.
6. Proposal Writing experience.
