AREA MANAGER (RETAIL)
Job summary
A leading retail company in East London seeks an Area Manager to oversee operations across 13 stores. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in clothing or FMCG retail, strong communication skills, and a commitment to staff management. Responsibilities include asset management, stock control, and maintaining high customer service standards. Candidates must have Matric and a valid Code 08 Drivers License, with a willingness to travel extensively. Competitive salary based on experience.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years' experience in Clothing or FMCG Retail as Area Manager.
- Code 08 Drivers license required.
- Willingness to travel extensively.
Responsibilities
- Manage assets and stock control for 13 stores.
- Oversee merchandising and marketing strategies.
- Ensure staff management and security.
Skills
Education
This area comprises of 13 stores in East London and surrounding areas, and requires a Top-Notch Candidate that is able to communicate at all levels with store employees in various positions, as well as Top Management at Head Office. Must be willing to travel extensively.
- Matric (not negotiable)
- Code 08 Drivers license (not negotiable)
- Post Matric / formalized qualifications are advantageous
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Clothing or FMCG Retail operations environment as an Area Manager.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to manage staff and ensure maximum productivity
- Excellent communication skills
- Good attention to detail and ability to use own initiative

Salary: Market related based on experience
