Maintenance Shift Artisan
Job summary
A manufacturing company is seeking a Maintenance Shift Artisan in Gqeberha, Eastern Cape. The role requires a qualified Red Seal Electrician with strong electrical and mechanical skills, and at least five years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment. Responsibilities include troubleshooting equipment and maintaining plant operations, with a focus on accuracy and teamwork. Candidates must have good communication and problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
- Must have 5 years post-trade test maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with Fanuc and Siemens equipment is advantageous.
- Ability to complete 5Why analysis for breakdowns.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for maintenance activities in the manufacturing plant.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions.
- Capture information accurately on MP2 and OEE Halden System.

Maintenance Shift Artisan
The company is looking for an energetic, competent and motivated person to take up the Shift Artisan position. This position requires both electrical and mechanical skills in order to fulfil the duties.
- You will be responsible for the Maintenance activities in the Manufacturing Plant.
- Troubleshooting malfunctions in equipment or processes to determine causes and solutions.
- You will be required to complete 5Why analysis for each and every breakdown.
- Liaise with Shift Co-ordinators to assist on breakdowns and Preventative work.
- Accurate capturing of information on MP2 and OEE Halden System.
- You will embrace additional tasks in line with your maintenance responsibilities as instructed by the Superintendent.
- Technical skills and relevant tertiary qualification.
- Qualified Red Seal Electrician essential with 2 years post trade test experience.
- Red Seal Industrial Electrician qualification would be preferred.
- Quality Management System understanding.
- Five (5) years Post Trade Test Maintenance experience in a Manufacturing environment is essential.
- Of which 3 years experience must be in a manufacturing environment.

- PLC Controlled Systems,
- CNC Machine,
- VDH machines,
- Strapping& Wrapping,
- Low Pressure Casting Machine,
- X-ray Machine,
- GnK Punches,
- Siepe Conveyors,
- Eisenmann Heat Treatment machines,
- Knowledge of Wet Paint Plant and Powder Plant,
- Computer literacy essential PC skills (Word, Excel, Email, MP2 and Haldan)
- Problem solving techniques with Leadership skills and Communication Skills
- Attention to detail and analytical skills
- Ability to work under pressure and as an integral team member
- Great interpersonal and Communication skills essential
- Required to work overtime as and when required.
