Job Description: As a Senior Java Engineer based in Cape Town, you will develop software for our cloud and mobile enterprise products, working closely with Product, Engineering, and Operations teams. Your role involves developing products that process tens of millions of online golf rounds annually, utilizing cutting-edge technologies, and participating in the entire product development lifecycle.

Your key responsibilities include:

1. Designing and developing Object-Oriented software.
2. Collaborating with stakeholders across various teams.
3. Participating in analysis, design, coding, and testing phases.
4. Refactoring Java code to improve quality and reduce technical debt.
5. Managing tasks proactively to meet deadlines.
6. Owning project delivery.
7. Adopting and sharing industry best practices.
8. Innovating to improve practices and procedures.

Qualifications: Candidates must have:

• Extensive professional software development experience.
• Experience with SQL, RDBMS (preferably PostgreSQL), Java, and frameworks like Spring and Hibernate.
• Experience with Docker and TDD processes.
• Proven experience in Object-Oriented Development.
• Self-motivation, organization, proactive attitude, and passion for software development.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Additional desirable skills include:

• Unit testing and mocking frameworks.
• CI/CD with tools like Jenkins, GitHub, or GitLab.

Location: Cape Town, SA with hybrid working arrangements.
