Job summary
A prestigious wilderness reserve in South Africa is seeking a charismatic Waiter to enhance the guest experience. This role requires a minimum of 2 years’ experience in fine dining or upmarket cocktail settings and proficiency in upselling techniques. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong command of the English language, attention to detail, and a presentable appearance. Flexibility in working hours is essential. Compensation details will be discussed upon selection.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years' experience in fine dining or upmarket cocktail bar.
- Good command of English and knowledge of hospitality vocabulary.
- Highly presentable and flexible with work hours.
Responsibilities
- Serve food and drinks to guests according to standards.
- Maximize revenue through upselling.
- Handle operating equipment according to company policies.
- Ensure proper setup of dining area.
- Maintain accurate transaction records.

The position requires a charismatic guest orientated salesperson with great attention to detail, to serve food and drinks to guests and prepare the outlet in accordance with RCH standards
- Department: Food and Beverage
- Reporting to: Food and Beverage Manager
- Location: Bushmans Kloof Wilderness Reserve and Wellness Retreat
- Must have at least 2 years’ experience in a fine dining restaurant (restaurant waitron); or upmarket cocktail bar (bar waitron); or 4/5* Hotel / Lodge Outlet
- Exposure to a Point of Sales System (Micros - advantageous)
- Good command of the English Language with solid knowledge of hospitality vocabulary
- Highly presentable
- Able to work flexible hours, weekends and holidays
- To maximise revenue generating opportunities, whilst enhancing the guest service experience, through upselling, in accordance with outlet service journey
- Ensuring that mise en place is done in accordance with F&B outlet standard
- Service guests in accordance with outlet service journey and company service culture
- Handle operating equipment in accordance with company standards ensuring minimal breakages
- Ensure that all revenue is accounted for by practicing the “swipe before you serve” principle for all transactions
