Group Executive: Chief Operations Officer

An executive-level opportunity is available for an experienced Chief Operations Officer (COO) to oversee and optimize operational efficiencies across multiple divisions.

This role is responsible for driving operational strategy, governance, compliance, and resource management to enhance overall performance and transformation.

1. Develop and implement operational strategies and frameworks aligned with the organization's vision.
2. Oversee and direct group operations to achieve efficiency and service excellence.
3. Strengthen stakeholder relationships and strategic partnerships.
4. Lead governance, risk management, and compliance within operations.
5. Manage and allocate organizational resources for maximum impact.

2. Transport and infrastructure industry expertise.
3. Financial, contract, and risk management.
4. Project governance and compliance frameworks.

1. Executive leadership in a multi-functional organization (10,000+ employees, R10-15bn+ expenditure).
2. Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills.
3. High-level negotiation and stakeholder engagement.
4. Experience leading major operational transformation initiatives.

1. Postgraduate qualification (NQF 8) in Business Administration, Engineering, Transport Management, or Economics.
2. 15+ years in operations leadership, with at least 5 years at an executive level.
3. Extensive experience leading major transformation projects.
4. Master's degree (MBA / MBL) is an added advantage.

1. 24 / 7 availability and flexibility with extended working hours.
2. Ability to travel locally and internationally as needed.
