Job summary
A leading recruitment agency in South Africa is seeking a QHSE Assistant. The ideal candidate will have Matric (Grade 12) and SAMTRAC qualifications, along with knowledge of essential legislation such as the COID Act and OSH Act. Responsibilities include assisting in QHSE meetings, scheduling trainings, and managing document requests. This role offers an opportunity to be involved in health and safety management in a dynamic environment.
Qualifications
- Matric (Grade 12) required.
- Minimum qualification: SAMTRAC or equivalent.
- Knowledge of COID Act, OSH Act, and basic employment legislation.
Responsibilities
- Assist in arranging QHSE meetings.
- Schedule various team meetings and training.
- Communicate QHSE system issues and follow up on deviations.
- Assist in document change requests.
Skills
Education
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Minimum: SAMTRAC or equivalent
- Knowledge and understanding of the following legislation & systems: COID Act
- OSH Act
- Basic Employment Act
- National environmental management act & regulations
- ISO standards (45001, 140001, 22000, 9001, and HACCP)
- SANS 10400 – National Building Regulations ISO Certification experience
- Assist in the arrangement and/or participate in QHSE Meetings, EHS, and Ops Group Meetings.
- Scheduling various meetings/trainings (teams/on-site); Follow up on implementation and Communicate QHSE System problems reported and attend to deviations.
- Assist in reviewing the permissions on the system.
- Assist in the document change request procedure.
