Job summary

A leading environmental consultancy is seeking a Senior-Level Water Use Licence Consultant in Midrand, Gauteng. The successful candidate will oversee project management related to water use licenses, compile necessary reports, and liaise with clients and authorities. Candidates should have an Honours Degree in Environmental Management or a similar field, along with 5+ years of experience in environmental consulting. This hybrid role requires strong analytical skills and willingness to travel extensively.

Qualifications

  • Honours degree in Environmental Management or related field required.
  • 5+ years of experience in environmental consulting is essential.
  • SACNASP registration is mandatory.
  • Must have knowledge of environmental policies and legislation.
  • Willingness to travel for site visits is necessary.

Job position: Senior‑Level Water Use Licence Consultant

Roles / Responsibilities & Job Description
  • Determining site sensitivities, water uses and the correct licences required, as well as the application process to follow.
  • Compiling Water Use Licence Technical Reports and Compliance Audit Reports.
  • Determining project costs and managing project budget.
  • Manage and co‑coordinate public participation processes.
  • Liaising with clients and authorities.
  • Overall project management and specialist management.
  • Analytical report writing.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of Honours Degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Science or similar field.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in environmental consulting.
  • Knowledge of relevant environmental policies/legislation.
  • Must be SACNASP registered.
  • Experience with ArcGIS/QGIS mapping & Microsoft Project.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines and be prepared to work extra time occasionally in order to do so.
  • Must be able to work independently and without supervision.
  • Must also be able to function productively as part of a team.
  • Must be willing to travel for site visits and client meetings.
  • Code B (code 8) driver’s licence (own transport required).
  • Must be willing to travel extensively and internationally.

Salary Range: Market related and based on experience.
