Job summary
A global engineering firm is seeking a Data Centre Specialist – Power Systems to manage electrical infrastructure for a high-profile data center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will have 10-15 years of experience in electrical engineering within mission-critical facilities, specializing in HV/LV systems, UPS, generators, and compliance with Tier III/IV standards. Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Data Centre Specialist – Power Systems to join our team!
In this role, you will oversee the technical delivery of all electrical infrastructure for a fast-track hyperscale data centre project targeting Uptime Institute Tier III/IV certification. The facility includes complex power infrastructure with high redundancy, fault tolerance, and maintainability requirements, ensuring continuous, uninterrupted mission-critical operations.
- Provide technical oversight of power system design, installation, and commissioning.
- Ensure compliance with Uptime Institute Tier III/IV requirements for redundancy and maintainability.
- Review and validate electrical designs, load calculations, and fault current analyses.
- Coordinate with design consultants, contractors, and commissioning teams.
- Support Integrated Systems Testing (IST) and ensure proper failover and recovery scenarios.
- Monitor installation quality and ensure alignment with project specifications and standards.
- Participate in risk assessments, technical reviews, and value engineering exercises.
- Support documentation, training, and handover to operations teams.
- 10–15 years in electrical engineering roles, with significant experience in data centers or mission-critical infrastructure.
- Expertise in HV/LV systems, UPS, generators, switchgear, and power distribution.
- Deep understanding of data centre power architecture, Tier certification requirements, and operational resilience.
- Strong analytical, coordination, and communication skills.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is required. Chartered Engineer status or equivalent is preferred.
- Experience with hyperscale data center projects and Tier III/IV certified facilities.
- Familiarity with regional utility regulations and grid integration.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, multi-package delivery environments.
