Quantity Surveyor / Manager ( in constructions)

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Estimation:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to identify cost factors.

Budget Development:

• Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to develop project budgets.
• Regularly update and maintain budget forecasts and analyze budget variances.

Procurement and Contract Management:

• Procure materials and services while ensuring cost-effective sourcing.
• Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Quantity Surveying:

• Measure and quantify construction materials and work quantities.
• Prepare bills of quantities and schedules for tender documents.

Cost Monitoring and Control:

• Monitor and track project costs throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review and validate invoices, change orders, and variations for accuracy.

Value Engineering:

• Recommend value engineering options to optimize project costs without compromising quality.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and innovative solutions.

Risk Assessment:

• Evaluate project risks and potential financial impacts.
• Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.

Change Order Management:

• Review and assess change orders and variations.
• Ensure proper documentation, approval, and cost assessment of changes.

Reporting and Documentation:

• Maintain organized quantity surveying documentation and records.
• Prepare and present cost control reports and analysis to senior management.

Skills

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience in quantity surveying, cost estimation, and financial management in the construction or real estate industry.
• Strong knowledge of quantity surveying software and tools.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate project data.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Leadership and team management experience.
• Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure.
• Familiarity with industry-specific regulations and standards.
