Job Description Summary:

HPE, a global leader in Data Services and Storage, is expanding its Storage Portfolio and seeks a Presales Architect experienced in unstructured data solutions. The successful candidate will engage customers, partners, and colleagues to create solutions addressing unstructured data needs, identify opportunities, develop and articulate compelling proposals, and provide technical expertise to sales teams and customers through presentations and demonstrations. Focus is on technical selling, often aligned with specific accounts based on business priority.

Responsibilities:
  • Apply knowledge of the unstructured data market and technology and HPE portfolio, articulating proposals and ensuring customer business and technical needs are met.
  • Track industry trends and emerging technologies, including competitor activities, leveraging this knowledge with the customer’s technical environment.
  • Contribute to industry developments through content support, presentations, demos, booth support, and social media.
  • Design storage solutions aligned to customer business requirements, leveraging knowledge and the customer’s technical environment.
  • Participate in deep‑diving discussions, articulating value propositions, defining key differentiators, and drafting high‑level solution designs.
  • Deliver optimal results by balancing costs, scope, scale, and benefits to deliver superior value.
  • Participate in the account’s business planning processes.
  • Collaborate proactively with account‑team leadership (HPE and Partners) to develop and communicate key value propositions, negotiation points, and identify overlooked opportunities within assigned accounts.
  • Proactively contribute to pipeline building by identifying opportunities (enhancements, unmet or unrecognized needs, upselling, and cross‑selling).
  • Document ongoing work throughout the sales cycle using specific tools and resources, sharing best practices with peers and partners.
  • Develop and nurture professional relationships with customer technical teams and key executives, understanding the ecosystem, business needs, and how HPE delivers value.
  • Proactively share knowledge with peers and help develop more junior team members.
Education and Experience:
  • First‑level university technical degree or equivalent technical qualifications. Advanced degree in technology preferred.
  • Technical experience in IT with a focus on unstructured data (file and object) solutions.
  • 3–5 years experience in file and object technologies.
  • Knowledge‑based and experience‑based relevant industry certifications strongly preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Well‑developed knowledge and experience in identifying and exploiting unstructured data opportunities.
  • Well‑developed consultative and value‑selling skills, including whiteboarding, customer demonstrations, objection handling, and closing skills.
  • Understanding of the indirect selling model, including direct and joint engagement with partners.
  • Leveraging communication skills, including active listening and storytelling, to support strong discussions and persuade customers/partners of the company point of view.
  • Business and financial acumen—sales cycle, pipeline growth, reporting, influence, business strategy linkage, and understanding of various customer business roles.
