Job Title: Migration Architect
Location: Egypt (with responsibilities spanning Egypt, KSA, India, and Jordan)
Reporting To: Senior Manager

A leading Cloud Center of Excellence is seeking a skilled Migration Architect to design, implement, and oversee cloud infrastructure solutions, cloud migration initiatives, and disaster recovery strategies. This individual will play a pivotal role in enabling cloud transformation efforts for clients across various geographies, ensuring operational resilience, scalability, and alignment with business goals.

Client Strategy & Engagement:

• Engage with senior client stakeholders to understand strategic goals and IT challenges.
• Perform assessments of existing environments to identify transformation opportunities.
• Develop business cases for cloud adoption, articulating ROI and long-term benefits.
• Create enterprise-level cloud roadmaps tailored to client objectives.
• Recommend cloud platforms (e.g., Oracle Cloud, Google Cloud) based on workload needs.
• Ensure designs incorporate industry best practices and the latest cloud innovations.

Cloud Architecture Design:

• Lead the development and deployment of multi-cloud solutions.
• Architect secure, scalable, and resilient cloud environments.
• Integrate hybrid infrastructure solutions with both on-premises and cloud platforms.
• Drive optimization efforts for cost-efficiency and performance.
• Maintain compliance with security, regulatory, and governance standards.
• Lead migration architecture for complex enterprise applications and data.
• Embed security and compliance considerations into all solution designs.

Cloud Migration Planning & Execution:

• Plan and execute large-scale data and application migrations.
• Analyze existing infrastructure to identify migration paths and risks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth transitions.
• Troubleshoot migration issues, ensuring system reliability and data integrity.
• Support post-migration optimization and tuning.
• Evaluate and implement migration strategies tailored to GCP, OCI, and similar platforms.

Disaster Recovery (DR):

• Design robust DR strategies and implement associated solutions.
• Conduct impact analyses to define recovery priorities and objectives.
• Implement testing protocols to validate DR readiness.
• Collaborate with business units to improve DR frameworks continuously.

Governance & Security:

• Establish multi-cloud governance frameworks aligned with regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
• Design and implement secure architectures, including IAM, encryption, and network controls.

Cost Optimization:

• Identify and execute cloud cost-saving strategies (e.g., reserved/spot instances, resource rightsizing).
• Monitor usage and recommend continuous improvement opportunities.

Automation & Monitoring:

• Develop IaC scripts (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) to automate provisioning and management.
• Implement tools for performance monitoring, logging, and issue resolution.
• Lead continuous assessment of environments to align with evolving needs.
• Provide training and enablement to client IT teams for cloud operations.

Vendor & Stakeholder Collaboration:

• Manage relationships with third-party vendors and cloud solution providers.
• Align cloud architecture with business objectives by working with internal and external stakeholders.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement:

• Stay current on emerging cloud trends, tools, and practices.
• Contribute to the development of new offerings and multi-cloud strategies.

General Duties:

• Support alignment between IT strategy and organizational objectives.
• Enforce architectural best practices and standards.
• Participate in governance, capacity planning, and performance management activities.

• Bachelor's in Computer Science, IT, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 15+ years in IT architecture, with a strong focus on cloud, migration, and DR.
• Proven track record in enterprise-scale architecture and cloud transformation.
• Experience in program or delivery leadership roles in IT or consulting environments.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and leadership capabilities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude.

• Deep expertise in platforms such as Google Cloud and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
• Advanced understanding of cloud migration tools and methodologies.
• Proficient in DR technologies, backup systems, and failover design.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible, etc.).
• Strong grasp of cloud security, compliance, and network architecture.
