Reporting to: Senior Director Commercial
Job Purpose: As the Director Marketing Strategy & Campaigns, you will lead our Marketing Strategy & Campaigns team. This role involves overseeing the end-to-end Marketing Strategy & Campaigns plan for the Esports World Cup, including team development, agency leadership, budget management, crisis communication, and partner management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marketing leadership and brand development.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of the Marketing Strategy & Campaigns strategy for the EWC, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Create the overarching storyline and campaign for the Esports World Cup and develop specific marketing plans for the key beats throughout the year.
- Develop and execute a mainstream marketing strategy to elevate esports to the same level as other global mainstream sports.
- Oversee 360-degree marketing campaigns, integrating digital, social media, events, outdoor (OOH), and traditional media.
- Ensure brand consistency across all marketing initiatives.
- Manage and develop the Marketing Strategy & Campaigns team, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and excellence.
- Oversee agency relationships, providing direction and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
- Manage the Marketing Strategy & Campaigns budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
- Develop and implement crisis communication strategies to protect and enhance the organization's reputation.
- Leverage rights and assets with partners, sponsors, and stakeholders to maximize promotional opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal teams (like Fan Marketing, Product, and Commercial) to create aligned, cohesive, and effective messaging.
- Facilitate the integration of traditional sports and esports, promoting cross-industry collaboration.
- Monitor and analyze marketing performance metrics, using data to inform strategic decisions and continuous improvement.
- Experience in working with top tier athletes and celebrities as brand ambassadors.
- Market EWC as a festival experience, ensuring full venue attendance across endemic and mainstream audiences.
- Elevate EWC regional visibility through high-visibility local campaigns for stakeholders and the general public.
- Execute a Mainstream Paid Campaign, ensuring large-scale distribution through traditional media products.
Education and Experience
12+ years of experience in Marketing Strategy & Campaigns, brand management, or related fields, with a focus ideally on gaming, esports, sports, or entertainment.
University degree in Marketing or a related field.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Expertise in 360-degree marketing campaigns, including OOH, PR, digital, and experiential marketing.
- Experience working in a global Marketing role with a mix of local and international responsibilities.
- Saudi National with a strong understanding of the local market, culture, and regulatory landscape.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Proven experience in managing high-profile stakeholder relationships within Saudi Arabia.
- Strong network within the Saudi government, media, and corporate sectors.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Proven leadership skills with experience in managing teams and cross-functional collaboration.
- Proficiency in data analysis and performance metrics.
- Fluent in Arabic and English (written and verbal).
