To develop and lead the implantation of SDC public relations and communication strategy, policies, procedures, and guidelines, manage the organization and execution of conferences and press releases, and direct traditional and digital communications and ensure their alignment to facilitate the successful implementation of SDC’s strategy and support the desired brand positioning.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage the implementation of PR and communication strategies for SDC including strategies for PR, media relations, social media and digital communications, SDC’s reputation, and SDC’s visibility in target markets to direct efforts in line with the overall strategic directions.
- Design PR and communication strategic plans (e.g. media relations, digital communication, and communication about CSR and environment) in line with the overall SDC marketing strategy to achieve strategic objectives.
- Define required guidelines for communication with internal and external stakeholders and public relations in line with standards to ensure proper reflection and consistency of branding image.
- Set guidelines for optimum communication channels and capacity, required events, and corporate social responsibility communication to establish the required public image of SDC.
- Establish the overall standards, processes, and protocols for all communications and public relations content to ensure consistency in communication and alignment with strategy.Public and Media Relations
- Organize and plan press releases and conferences to communicate with the general public and maintain a good public image.
- Direct day-to-day media relations/media requests to share destination issues, increase chat interactions, and provide value to your viewers.
- Plan and manage protocol activities such as invitation distribution, attendance tracking, the arrival and departure monitoring of SDC’s VIP guests to control events and press releases.
- Oversee meet and greet activities of high-profile individuals/VIP guests to expand company network and develop mutually beneficial relationships with media representatives, investors, partners, and/or clients.
- Manage the alignment of internal and external communications and the support provided to top management in public communications to ensure consistency and effectiveness of communications.Communications
- Direct the development and maintenance of different communication channels to reach a higher audience. Ensure the expansion of SDC’s communication reach through leveraging various channels including website, travel and tourism blogs, social networking sites, and different search engines.
- Supervise outward and inward-facing communications (e.g. traditional, audio-visual, and new media), ensuring an increase of awareness of SDC activities.
- Lead the deployment of proper messages and branding in crises and support the team in developing and publishing crisis responses to manage crises effectively.
- Manage the measurement of the success of digital and social media initiatives to ensure effectiveness, reliability, and user-friendliness through all channels.
- Guide the evaluation of existing communications capacity and needs at SDC, ensuring the implementation of positive enhancements.Outsourcing Management
- Lead the selection of marketing/public relations agencies and monitor the implementation of service level agreements to achieve plan requirements.
- Work closely with key media representatives/contacts and marketing/public relations agencies to develop marketing and public relations content for SDC and the destination.
- Oversee the delivery of marketing and public relations content by external vendors to ensure quality and brand alignment.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with local and international newspapers, television channels, and other media communications partners to satisfy internal needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or equivalent from a recognized and accredited university.
- Master’s degree in any related field from a recognized and accredited university is preferred.
