Job Summary:

The Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring a safe, compliant, and hazard-free working environment across all project sites, including construction and infrastructure locations. This role involves enforcing safety protocols, conducting inspections, training staff, and ensuring compliance with local laws and project-specific safety standards. The Safety Officer works closely with supervisors, project managers, and HSE departments to cultivate a strong safety culture and prevent workplace accidents and incidents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Site Safety Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of job sites, tools, machinery, and working conditions to ensure adherence to safety policies and legal standards.
• Risk Management: Identify potential hazards and unsafe conditions, perform risk assessments, and implement preventive and corrective measures.
• Safety Procedures & Protocols: Develop, implement, and update site-specific safety procedures and emergency response plans.
• Training & Awareness: Plan and deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and ongoing training sessions for all staff and subcontractors.
• Incident Investigation: Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses to identify root causes, prepare reports, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety records, including inspections, training logs, incident reports, and audit results.
• PPE & Equipment Monitoring: Ensure availability, proper use, and regular maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE), fire extinguishers, and other safety devices.
• Compliance & Regulation: Monitor and ensure compliance with all local, national, and project-specific HSE requirements and update management on legal developments.
• Team Coordination: Work collaboratively with supervisors, engineers, and site personnel to promote and enforce a safety-first culture across all operations.

Qualifications:

• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Required: Relevant safety certifications such as NEBOSH, OSHA, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 5 years of safety experience specific to construction or infrastructure projects, including risk mitigation and compliance enforcement.

Project-Specific Requirement:

• The Safety Officer shall be fluent in both spoken and written English.
• Must be a designated on-site crew member directly responsible for labor safety, work zone safety, and ensuring compliance with all project and contractual safety requirements.
• Should know driving and have a valid driving license (preferable).
• Must be able to pass the Aramco Work Permit Receiver (WPR) Exam.
