A leading financial services company located in Selangor, Malaysia is seeking an experienced finance leader to manage operational finance activities. Responsibilities include leading monthly and quarterly closings, overseeing financial reporting, and improving reporting processes. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting, relevant certifications, and at least 5 years of experience in a supervisory role, preferably in the retail or FMCG sector. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential for this position.
Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate Group financial reporting.
Oversee consolidation of multiple business units and plants, validating submissions for accuracy and consistency.
Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and regulatory bodies to ensure full compliance with statutory and Bursa requirements.
Strengthen internal control frameworks and accounting policies to safeguard company assets and ensure integrity governance.
Drive continuous improvement in financial reporting processes for speed, accuracy, and transparency.
2. FP&A (Finance Process & Analysis) & Business Performance Management
Leadbudgeting, forecasting, and performance review cyclesin collaboration with plant and divisional finance teams.
Providevariance analysis and performance commentaryon revenue, production cost, yield, conversion cost, and margin.
Develop and maintainfinancial modelsfor business scenarios, sensitivity analyses, and strategic decision support.
Present actionable insights to management on profitability, productivity, and working capital efficiency.
Translate financial data into business intelligence to support operational and strategic decisions.
3. Budgeting & Analysis Support
· Provide financial insights and analysis to support management decisions.
· Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
· Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost efficiency.
4. Systems & Process Improvement
· Oversee accounting systems and ensure data integrity.
· Lead implementation or enhancement of ERP/ accounting system.
· Develop and document accounting policies and procedures.
Partner with operations and supply chain leaders to improve cost efficiency and asset utilization.
· Supervise, coach, and guide the finance and account team to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
· Set performance goals, conduct evaluations, and promote professional growth.
· Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment on financial processes.
Professional experience and Qualifications:
Education:Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
Professional certifications (ACCA, CPA, CIMA) is advantageous.
Experience:Minimum of 5 years of experience in Operational Finance, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
Experience in Retail / Convenience Store / FMCG Environment will be an added advantage
