Clinical Physician - Part-Time - Jacksonville
- Provides medical care to patients entering the urgent care facility.
- Supports the company standards of care.
- Complies with established standards, practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensures patient needs are met within the scope of practice as per State Statute.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain policies, procedures, quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
- Come prepared to care for patients and support the urgent care site through actions and communication.
- Interact regularly with the manager and keep them informed of concerns and potential liability issues.
- Render medical care to all patients during assigned shifts.
- Arrive on time, ready to work, and stay until the clinic closes and all patients are seen.
- Obtain patient history and perform physical examinations relevant to the presenting problem.
- Order necessary laboratory and radiographic studies.
- Make therapeutic decisions collaboratively with the patient.
- Administer medications or treatments as needed.
- Document patient encounters thoroughly in the EMR and sign off appropriately.
- Review provider-related questions, complete necessary tasks, and follow up on patient care.
- Participate in staff meetings and educational programs.
- Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment.
- Follow Universal Precautions and promote their use.
- Maintain confidentiality of medical records per HIPAA and PHI policies.
- Contribute to education programs for staff.
- Attend required meetings and ongoing education.
- Engage in professional development activities.
- Participate in on-call duties as assigned.
- Assist in onboarding, orientation, and training of new personnel and students.
- Act as primary supervising physician for APPs, including Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants, in accordance with state regulations.
- Conduct remote reviews of EMRs for quality and compliance.
- Meet with supervisees regularly via various communication methods.
- Review and investigate patient complaints and determine appropriate follow-up actions.
- Report provider deficiencies to the State Medical Director.
- Adhere to all policies, procedures, and uphold the CareSpot culture.
- Collaborate with management and training staff on onboarding and evaluations.
- Sign Supervising Physician Agreements and serve as backup as needed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Experience, Skills, and Education
- Unrestricted license to practice medicine in Florida.
- Graduate of an accredited medical or osteopathic medical school.
- Strong clinical judgment, procedural skills, and ability to teach adult learners.
- Excellent bedside manner, customer service, and respect for patients and staff.
- Familiarity with EMR systems.
- Receptive to feedback and collaborative work style.
- Self-motivated, organized, and results-oriented.
Preferred Qualifications: Board certification in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, or Primary Care Medicine; outpatient or urgent care experience.
Additional Qualifications: Appreciation for team-based care and conflict resolution skills.
