Production Planner
Job summary
A manufacturing company in Terengganu is looking for a professional to handle production planning and inventory management within their Electrical Distribution Systems division. Responsibilities include updating firm orders and production schedules in SAP, preparing production plans, conducting planning meetings, and managing communication with customers and logistics providers. Ideal candidates will have experience with SAP and a strong background in production planning and inventory management.

- Experience with SAP for managing firm orders and customer forecasts.
- Ability to prepare production plans and manifests.
- Strong organizational skills to monitor production output.
Responsibilities
- Update firm orders and customer forecasts in SAP weekly.
- Prepare final assembly production plans and manifests.
- Monitor daily production output against the planned schedule.
- Conduct weekly production planning meetings with the operations team.
- Communicate daily with customers and 3PL providers.
Skills
PURCHASING OR INVENTORY OR MATERIAL AND WAREHOUSE MANAGEMENT
Electrical Distribution Systems (EDS) division, predominantly manufacturing wiring harnesses for local OEMs.
- Update firm orders and customer forecasts in SAP weekly after Master Production Schedule (MPS) review, to support timely material planning.
- Prepare final assembly production plans and manifests for each running model.
- Monitor daily production output against the planned schedule.
- Maintain and update the production planning file regularly.
- Conduct weekly production planning meetings with the operations team.
- Support finished goods (FG) handling and the shipping process.
- Prepare weekly FG inventory forecast/closing.
- Ensure no backlog for both SOP (Start of Production) and After Sales orders.
- Prepare and manage the daily shipping/delivery plan.
- Communicate daily with customers and 3PL (third-party logistics) providers regarding shipping and delivery schedules.
- Prepare and submit:
- Daily production output vs. plan report
- Monthly reports comparing:
- Plan vs. actual deliveries
- Plan vs. production capacity
- Production plan comparison by model or platform
- FG buffer stock calculations
- Connecting maps for each model/platform
- FG PFEP (Plan For Every Part)
- Complete ZKE transactions in SAP for every customer delivery (N+1 cycle).
- Monitor and report month-end FG inventory closing.
- Maintain a minimum of 3 days FG inventory at both plant and 3PL locations.
