Job summary

A leading quality management firm in Malaysia is looking for a Quality Manager to implement and uphold quality policies, oversee inspection processes, and manage material inspections in compliance with global standards. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering or Science and have effective communication skills. Experience in the furniture industry is a plus. This role is critical for maintaining high quality and compliance standards across manufacturing operations.

Job description

Formulate and implement quality policies in alignment with global furniture quality standards and legal regulations.

Lead special inspection tool design and master sample processes.

Manage all incoming material and component inspection activities, including developing and managing new product test activities (e.g., new fabric application tests, new product evaluations).

Oversee the disposal of non-conforming materials, components, and products to ensure compliance with company and product quality requirements.

Monitor, verify, and follow up on quality issues arising from production lines and customer sites, ensuring all open NCM cases are closed promptly.

Liaise with suppliers/OEMs on inspection methods, technical agreement requirements, test reports, master sample sign-off, on-site inspections, sorting arrangements, and disposal of NCM components/products.

Manage ISIR inspection activities to support NPIP projects, quality improvement initiatives, and cost-saving projects.

Maintain drawing issue records and provide regular feedback to Production, Project, and Engineering teams to drive continuous improvement.

Manage and provide material/component test and inspection reports to the Project team for promotional and documentation purposes.

Oversee manufacturing quality activities including process audits, product audits, development and revision of inspection work instructions and control plans, quality awareness training, handling of process non-conformities, documentation, picture-taking, and material handover protocols.

Supervise Mock-up and Control Sample quality inspections.

Develop and establish quality standards and ensure professional documentation of all quality-related topics.

Participate as an internal auditor in annual internal audits to ensure the Quality Management System complies with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, FSC, BIFMA and other relevant standards.

Job Requirements: -

Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering or Science.

Candidate from Furniture background / experience will be added advantage.

Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
