About the role

Allied Precision Technologies (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a skilled Stamping Mould Specialist (Tool Maker) to join our team in Melaka, Malaysia. As a Stamping Mould Specialist, you will play a crucial role in the design, manufacture and maintenance of stamping tools and moulds used in our precision metal stamping operations. This is a full-time position that will allow you to utilise your technical expertise and passion for toolmaking.

What you'll be doing

Analyze problem and repair tooling for corrective action.

Make improvement and propose corrective and preventive action.

Understand and read engineering drawing.

Setup and follow-up on die setup and minor trouble-shooting on press machine.

Assemble new tooling and modification / upgrading.

Conduct test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet specifications; make adjustments as necessary.

Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify dies, jigs, gauges, and tools, using machine tools and hand tools.

Inspect finished dies for smoothness, contour conformity, and defects.

Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators.

Technical support for new tool setting

To handle other tasks and duties as and when requested by superior.

What we're looking for

Minimum 5 years' experience as a Stamping Mould Specialist or Tool Maker in the metal stamping industry

Strong proficiency in the design, fabrication and maintenance of stamping tools and moulds

Excellent technical skills in areas such as CNC machining, welding, grinding and tool sharpening

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve production issues

Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety

Able to work independently as well as in a team-based environment
