Job summary
A leading interpretation service provider in Malaysia is seeking an experienced interpreter to facilitate communication across language barriers. The role requires excellent listening skills, B2 English proficiency, and the ability to handle sensitive topics professionally. Candidates must be able to work from home and should possess the necessary skills to navigate complex subjects across different industries.
Qualifications
- Excellent listening, retention, and note taking skills.
- Ability to concentrate and remain neutral in conversations.
- Bilingual with required languages.
Responsibilities
- Provide language interpretation for individuals with language barriers.
- Handle telephone or video calls and interpret between speakers.
- Use appropriate industry terminology in various fields.
Skills
- Excellent listening, retention and note taking skills to maintain a high level of accuracy
- Ability to concentrate, stay detached from the conversation, and always remain neutral and objective
- Ability to quickly establish personal credibility
- Ability to follow client's instructions closely
- Ability to explain certain cultural concepts to avoid miscommunication with the permission or at request of the client
- B2 CEFR English Level bilingual wih other required languages
- Able to work from home on a permanent basis
- Provide language interpretation from one language to another for individual with language barrier to understand and communicate to each other
- Handling telephone or video calls on demand and renders meaning of conversations in the consecutive mode of interpretation between speakers of English
- Processes information quickly and concisely, recognizes sensitive cultural differences, and is always professional and courteous
- The interpreter will use appropriate industry terminology and understand common industry procedures and practices. The calls may involve simple or complex, non-technical or technical subjects in Healthcare, Government, Insurance, Finance, Utilities, Travel and Hospitality, 911 emergency services, Law Enforcement, Courts, and General Business.
