A leading building contractor in London urgently requires a Managing QS / Commercial Manager to oversee projects and manage a team of quantity surveyors. The ideal candidate will have experience with a building contractor and a strong understanding of cost management, particularly in residential apartment buildings. Highly regarded building contractor with over 25 years in operation urgently requires a Managing QS / Commercial Manager to join their busy team.
The contractor builds a number of apartment blocks in London and the South East for Housing Associations and Residential Providers.
This is a hands-on management role. The successful candidate will be running projects in addition to managing the team of quantity surveyors and assistants.
Ideal candidate: will have worked for a building contractor and will understand the constraints of costs and tight margins typical of contracting, while being polished enough to engage with sub-contractors, clients and reporting at board level. Experience in building residential apartment blocks is required.
