A prominent engineering contractor in Bridgwater is seeking a Commercial Manager to lead the Commercial Team. The role initially involves overseeing an £8M p/a Highways business unit and will expand to additional segments as the individual grows in the position. The ideal candidate will have about 10 years of experience in Civil Engineering, preferably with knowledge of various contract forms. The compensation package includes a salary up to £90,000 plus additional benefits.

Overview

This new opportunity has arisen for a Commercial Manager to lead the Commercial Team in an established, medium sized, multi-disciplinary engineering tier 2 contractor based in Bridgwater. Your role will initially involve leading the Highways business unit which delivers circa £8M p/a of small civils works across three major frameworks.

As your Commercial Manager role develops responsibility will extend to additional business units on frameworks, surfacing and small scale civil engineering schemes with the appetite for the business to tender on larger schemes (£5M +). Prior experience with multiple forms of contract including JCT, NEC3/4 option A, B, C, lump sum and TMC framework rates. You will be working closely with the Operations Delivery Manager, and group board of directors presenting monthly cash flow forecasts, CVR's and CE's. Prior experience within estimating is also essential.

The business is predominantly self-delivery, has an extensive catalogue of plant, experienced delivery teams, and strong reputation within its field. This is a genuine opportunity to gain experience and refine your commercial skill set.

Key Experience

• Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
