A leading healthcare trust in the United Kingdom is seeking a Band 6 Sister to coordinate shifts and provide excellent patient care within a dynamic clinical environment. The role requires strong leadership, effective communication, and the ability to manage a team efficiently. Applicants must hold a first-level registration in respiratory medicine and demonstrate a commitment to improving patient outcomes. This position offers flexible working patterns, including weekends and nights.
As a band 6 Sister you will be responsible on a day to day basis for coordinating the shifts, providing care and support for patients with general medical and respiratory conditions, and supporting the team to deliver excellent care and supervising junior members of the ward team. You will need to have an interest in improving the patient experience and demonstrate excellent communication skills and develop effective working relationships with all members of the multi‑disciplinary team. You will be expected to take on additional duties to support the ward manager including e‑rostering, reviewing and investigating incident reports, undertaking personal development reviews, and mandatory monthly audits to monitor quality care on the ward. We work closely with the respiratory nurses and the respiratory assessment unit. There will be opportunities to enhance your understanding of respiratory conditions. A flexible approach and the ability to respond to the demands of a rapidly changing acute clinical environment are also essential. The post is offered on a contract of 37.5 hours per week and requires flexible working patterns to meet the need of the service, including weekends, bank holidays and rotation to nights as required.
