About the role

We are seeking to appoint a Course Director to lead and shape our MA Illustration course within our thriving art school. This is a pivotal academic leadership role, central to the development of a strong course identity and student experience. As Course Director, you will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing the performance, growth, and success of the MA Illustration course
  • Leading and coordinating the academic delivery team
  • Driving curriculum innovation, enhancement, and review
  • Creating a collaborative, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Supporting student progression and success
  • Contributing to teaching across postgraduate and possibly undergraduate levels
Candidate profile

We are looking for a passionate and dynamic academic with:

  • Experience of teaching and course leadership in Higher Education at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels
  • A current practice in the expanded field of illustration and/or related fields within visual communication
  • An active research profile
  • Interests aligned with social innovation, contemporary creative practices, and the integration of digital and traditional techniques
  • A commitment to inclusive education, innovation, and reflective pedagogical practice
  • Experience or interest in student supervision at postgraduate level (desirable)
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to embrace change in a fast-evolving HE landscape
