Job summary
A global insurance organization is seeking a Sanctions Specialist in Birmingham to provide sanctions guidance and support compliance with UK and international economic and trade sanctions. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in financial services, strong communication skills, and a willingness to continuously learn. This role offers a hybrid working model and a salary range of £45-55K plus bonus and benefits.
Qualifications
- Broad understanding of UK and international economic and trade sanctions legislation.
- Experience in the insurance sector with a grasp of regulatory requirements.
- Proven sanctions advisory experience.
Responsibilities
- Build key relationships to provide support and advice on sanctions.
- Provide sanctions advice for compliance with economic and trade sanctions.
- Respond to sanctions-related enquiries and escalations.
- Develop expertise for complex cases and draft reports.
- Support development and maintenance of Company policies on sanctions compliance.
Skills
Location: London, York or Norwich. Hybrid (3 days weekly in the office)
Lutine Bell are working with a Global Insurance organisation who are looking to appoint a Sanctions Specialist into their expanding Financial Crime team.
You will provide sanctions advice and guidance to the business areas and functions, as well as being involved in sanctions-related projects and workstreams.
- Build key relationships so you can provide ongoing support and advice to the business in respect of sanctions referrals and enquiries
- Provide sanctions advice to support the UK business’ compliance with applicable UK and international economic and trade sanctions and export controls
- Respond to sanctions-related enquiries, referrals and escalations
- Develop subject-matter expertise so you can respond to complex cases and draft reports for internal and external use
- Support the development, maintenance and roll-out of Company policies, procedures and related processes supporting Sanctions compliance
- Sanctions experience within the financial services sector, with a broad understanding of UK and international economic and trade sanctions legislation including UK, EU, UN and US sanctions.
- Experience of working in the insurance sector with a good understanding of regulatory requirements
- Proven sanctions advisory experience
- An excellent knowledge of economic and trade sanctions and export controls
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Willingness to continually learn and upskill your knowledge of UK and international economic and trade sanctions legislation and export controls
