Hippo is recruiting for intermediate consultants in user research. User researchers design, plan, and conduct research into what people need from a service, producing recommendations for user-centred service design. Working with designers, product owners, developers, and other members of Agile teams, you will test services as they are being designed and use research evidence to help explain design decisions to clients.

As an intermediate consultant in user research, you should have strong user research skills and some experience advising on designing user-centred services. We offer opportunities for professional development and growth within your role and with clients.

Please note, we are seeking candidates interested in growth at this level (intermediate). The advertised salary band reflects this, being at the lower end of our full range for this position, with potential for progression.

• Plan and execute various user research activities to support product design
• Select appropriate research methods depending on the service lifecycle phase
• Help build empathy for service users
• Support usability evaluation sessions
• Utilize tools to collect data and write research reports to present findings
• Present findings, design and business recommendations, and customer insights to stakeholders
• Collaborate within Agile, multidisciplinary teams in a user-centred design process
• Use insights from research and metrics to define and improve services, clearly explaining your decisions
• Run workshops with your team and stakeholders
• Share best practices within the Hippo research and design community

• Experience working with senior stakeholders
• Proficiency with qualitative and quantitative research methods
• Knowledge of user-centred design principles and practices
• Understanding of how research insights support strategic objectives
• Ability to communicate findings effectively and handle stakeholder challenges
